Genetal Wart (also known as venereal wart or Genital Warts) - Their Symptoms, Tips for their Treatment, Removal, Cure and Home Remedies for it

The concept of beauty in the general sense is based on asmooth, silky skin with a smooth texture and colour. Blemishes of any kind, sometimes in the form of nevi or genetal or common warts, are considered to be very ugly and some people may be very conscious about them. Though some may consider them as "Beauty spots", in general and they are not really welcome.

Warts are small epidermic growths caused by a virus. These growths may vary in size and shape and are commonly of four types: Plane warts, Common warts, Genetal Warts (also called genital warts) and Planter warts.

Plane warts are the simplest of all warts. They are usually small, smooth and skin-coloured or brownish lesions which are raised slightly from the skin surface. They usually occur in the face and outer surface of the hands. They most frequently affect the children and some young adults.

What are Genetal Warts?

Genetal warts, also called condylomata acuminata or venereal warts are the most easily recognized sign of genetal human papilloma virus (PHV) infection. Warts are benign tumors of the epidermis. Some people will have a genetal HPV infection without genetal warts.

What causes Genetal Warts?

Genetal warts are transmitted by sexual contact with an infected partner.

Although much remains to be learned about how the papilloma virus progresses, doctors have observed that the warm, moist environment in the genital area seems to favor wart growth. Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during pregnancy and in patients with defective immune systems.

Treatment for Genital or Genetal Warts

While seeking for treatment of genetal warts, it must be remembered that these warts may disappear on its own.

Treatment for genital warts does not get rid of the HPV infection. A person treated for genital warts may still be able to transmit the infection.

Genetal warts may be related to the development of cervical cancer. So if you have this type of warts, get them treated properly as soon as possible and have regular cervical smears.

Salicylic acid plasters, Salicylic acid collodion Salactol and Duofilm are some of the common genetal wart remedies available.

Genital Wart Symptoms

Some of the genital wart symptoms include the following:

  • Tiny, gray, pink or red swellings in your genital area that grow quickly.
  • Several warts close together that take on a cauliflower shape.
  • Itching or burning sensation in your genital area.
  • Discomfort with pain or bleeding with intercourse.

How can I prevent myself from getting genetal Warts?

  • The only way to prevent infection is to avoid direct contact with the virus which is mostly transmitted through sexual contact.
  • Sexually active men and women reduce their risk of infection by reducing their numbers of partners and by using condoms correctly and consistently during sexual intercourse.
  • Condoms are the only form of contraceptive that offer some protection against sexually transmitted genital warts, but even then the protection is incomplete.
